Greetings, ISRA Members! We hope you are enjoying the cool of early fall, and the fact that the Cubs are still in first place… And now, IT IS TIME FOR SOME RACQUETBALL!

ISRA Courtside (First Half 2017) is hot off the press and posted! Just click on the icon in the top right corner of this page! It’s a record 39 pages long, so settle down with a cup of coffee and a donut (or a kale salad, or whatever) to read all about the wrap-up to the 2016/2017 season as you gear up for 2017/2018. Included are a lot of great pictures (thanks to Mike Davern, Cheryl Kirk and the others who document many of our events) and tournament results from all things racquetball in Illinois.

The ISRA Tournament Calendar is posted to the right of this message, if you want to search for any event in particular and get it on your calendar now.

Starting out with the UnitedHealthcare US Open, where a number of Illinois players will be competing October 4-8. Next up on the ISRA calendar are the Glass Court Fall Invitational, October 20-22, and the Glass Court Turkey Shoot, November 17-19. Let’s get into shape for these events and burn those calories in advance of the holiday season! Sign up on R2… see you there!

JUNIOR RACQUETBALL IS GEARING UP TOO! Under the leadership of Marian Bala, Andy Pitock, Carolyn Vazquez, and Michael Fornero, Junior Team Illinos will get underway at Glass Court on October 1st!

A Registration Meeting will be held that day at 9:00am sharp and will include Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Testing to place players into initial levels. The coaching staff has some fresh new ideas encompassing instruction, practice, and competition as part of this year’s program. Parents are welcome to volunteer their assistance!

Please write to Cheryl Kirk at cherylkkirk@aol.com with any questions and to receive an electronic JTI flyer with all the details for the 2017-18 season.l

Hope to see your kids this year… please RSVP to let us know if we will see you on October 1st!

We’re currently talking to sponsors for the ISRA Season and for the Shamrock Shootout IRT Pro Tour event next March. If you know of ANYONE who would be interested in supporting professional racquetball (Men or Ladies) at an Illinois Pro Stop, please have them contact Geoff Peters at petersgeoff@hotmail.com or (773) 251-4413.

We look forward to seeing you on the courts this season!
